Participant

General Secretariat of Research and Technology Participant, During this project, I was responsible for the setting up of experiments with air tight aerobic reactors to investigate the co-composting of dewatered wastewater sludge with the organic fraction of municipal solid wastes. Mass balances of carbon and nitrogen were performed. INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF WASTEWATER AND WASTEWATER SLUDGE USING NATURAL TREATMENT SYSTEMS

EU Regional Development Directorate-General Participant: During this project, I was responsible for designing treatment facilities for two remote olive mill plants in the island of Lesvos. In addition, I was involved with the economics of olive mill wastewater management in central and decentralized level in the island of Lesvos. Innovative Olive Mill Waste Management Systems (NAIAS Project) Approx. 800.000€ for the whole project (other tasks were involved).

Prefecture of Kozani Participant: Developed a methodology to assess the maximum number of tourists in a cave near Ptolemais to avoid deterioration of the carbonate rock formations (stalagmites etc.). Included measurements of CO2 contents within the cave, measurements of [Ca++] in the cave water and measurements of aeration rates through the cave. Environmental Impacts of Tourism on Ermakia Cave of the Kozani prefecture 5000€

Prefecture of Chios Participant: Developed a methodology to assess the maximum number of tourists in a cave (Olimpi village) to avoid deterioration of the carbonate rock formations.
